PHP vs ASP.NET?

Ok I want to get into web development. But I'm totally confused way should I go php or asp.net. PHP seems easy because it uses MySQL and Apache and that seems like a complete package. Asp.net elsewhere sounds confusing, because you have to learn another. langugage net (thought it was a asp.net language) or visual c such base and of course any database. Can someone please give me advice .. Thanks in advance

It really depends if you are working in an environment code open or a Microsoft. PHP is easier to learn because it's a scripting language for the Web. ASP.Net is a small subset of C #. Net and / or VB.Net, which are fully developed languages. There is much more to know when working with ASP.Net, but it is significantly more powerful and robust. Casual encoders (or open source boys) using PHP. Professionals (and most companies) use ASP.Net.
