As markets tighten and Peoples' € ™ s feeling can tend to the negative it is essential that donâ ™ € t get spooked. As mentioned earlier in the article about â € œWatch leaves near his minda € we must examine all evidence in hand, make informed decisions about our market and to ensure that our sales efforts and canvassing are addressed and at the forefront of our business. We must also ensure that we conduct ourselves in an ethical and professional manner that works with our customers, not against them. However in moments of despair (and maybe it is all the time for some stooping) some people to new lows to try to get a sale. Here are some examples of unethical and fraudulent behavior disguised sales activities. So beware.
For example, last week, Carla, our client Admin Services Manager, received a phone call from a man who said:
â € Your fax machine is for a maintenance and I'm trying to organize a time to come in.â €
There had been no mention in our business on a fax machine review. We are small enough for most things to be in public domain, so Carla knew something wasn € ™ t right. He passed the call to our Business Manager, Jobst dealing with all our office equipment. The man tried the same line in Jobst that, of course, That was nothing. The long and short of it was this man was trying to get an appointment with us to sell new equipment, but did so by deception.
As Carla told me later that if they are new or not very experienced or not maintained in the circuit may inadvertently leave someone in your business that had not won the right to be there first. Why couldn € ™ t that the person has been brought forward and told us what they wanted? Because if nothing is safe as at our door had been kicked us back again to try to deceive us.
I call this â € ~ hit and â € " ™ € spot the victim. To try to find a â € ~ victim € ™ that can trick them and then try to bully them into buying something. While these stories make the news not being at one end of an ugly specter of lies and deceit. At the other end of the spectrum are the tragic stories we hear and read in the press of the vulnerable elderly and people leave their homes in some sort of maintenance work only to steal or, worse, badly wounded or dead.
Itâ € ™ s bad enough that these people try to get at your front door by deception, but some companies donâ ™ bother trying to see in place, only send an invoice false hope that nobody will notice and you have to pay, together with all other accounts.
He mentioned two specific examples that had happened to him:
- An industry magazine in its market your company to send an invoice with a serial number dummy for a $ 600 ad that never ordered.
- The application of a mark through his lawyer (always invoice all work done through his law firm) for our client receives a separate bill for $ 1,200 a company that claims to be a company brand. The official looking invoice arrived on his desk ready for payment have been approved by your accounts department. Knowing that it had received all revenues through his lawyer called his lawyer and found that this â € ~ € ™ company trademark was probably using the brand database somehow offices and sending fraudulent invoices to people who requested for the marks with the hope that people were not alert, your bill also.
It made me wonder how many of us have paid a â Invoiceâ € ~ € ™ for work authorized and never received. How many have slipped through the net?
These kinds of examples, remind us of the importance of being vigilant and to adequately assess the credentials of any person or any bill trying to make business with us.

K2 Domain Skis $449.95 The symmetrical Domain dominates the whole park. The Jib Rocker profile gives you a stable landing platform underfoot and buttery tips and tails for those focused on tech rail-trickery. From switch lips and hardway on's to 4-pretz-2s and Super-Feds, the Domain lets you mash out your tailpresses, enhances butters, banged-out manuals, and shuffles. If you're still reading and comprehending this, you may have just found your perfect ski. Key Features of the K2 Domain Skis: JIB ROCKER: ROCKER: Easy initiation, versatility, agility. Featuring an elevated tip and tail with zero camber underfoot, Jib Rocker offers the best blend of playfulness for butters and surface tricks combined with enhanced pop for unmatched ollie power. Simply put, Jib Rocker is designed for ollies, butters, and predictable pop. SYMMETRICAL TAPER: A symmetrical ski has a switch arc that is equivalent to its forward arc. To maximize performance, the mounting location is in the absolute center of the ski. PLATES AND RIVETS: K2 tip and tail rivets have evolved to allow the addition of a pre-cut climbing skin onto the ski for all your backcountry access needs. TWIN TIP SPECIFIC SKI SHAPES: Unlike other categories in the K2 line, our twin tips are designed to ski in both directions. The demand for products that perform increasingly well either way is now the norm. K2 has exceeded that challenge by developing unique radius and taper angles to maximize the skis' bi-directional performance. TWIN TECH SIDEWALLS: This new Twin Tip specific construction process increases the durability of sidewall skis. A traditional sidewall construction produces a 90-degree angle where the top material and sidewall meet. The Twin Tech construction actually rolls the top material into the sidewall reducing the angle that is prone to abuse. ABSORB – ABS /URETHANE HYBRID SIDEWALLS: This horizontal sidewall construction sandwiches a urethane layer in between ABS for shock ABSorption, lessening the impact of harsh landings to the rider. Urethane is used under foot to maximize dampening, but ABS is used toward the tip and tail to maximize performance and edge control. TRIAXIAL BRAIDING: Triaxial braiding consists of braiding fiberglass around a wood core to provide torsional rigidity for added control. Developed in 1988 by K2 engineers, the patented triaxial braiding machine interlocks strands of fiberglass around a milled wood core. While flex and torsion vary depending on the wood, Triaxially braided skis share the common traits of ease, forgiveness, responsiveness, and energy in both expert and entry level skis. 3.5 MM EDGES: Factory Team skis use thick, durable steel edges. It is far more resistant to cracking for a more durable, longer lasting ski. Sidecut: 115/90/115 |
